No to Performance Tax!

Guess what I heard on the radio yesterday morning: The recording industry wants to impose a fee on radio stations who play music. For a very long time, radio stations have played music, interviewed musicians, discovering new talents and popularizing them. The record labels in turn sell concert tickets, CDs and other merchandise. These performance fees would essentially cripple local radio stations. Or turn all shows into talk radio. Now I know many people are using their iPods, iPhones, satellite radio or the internet to listen to their music. Call me outdated, but I still like the dying forms of media: newspapers, books and free radio.
