Oscars 2011

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their nominees for the 83rd Oscars this morning. The King's Speech leads the pack at 12 nominations. I was happy to see The Fighter get a bunch of acting nods, although producer Mark Wahlberg was snubbed. I am disappointed that Inception writer/director Christopher Nolan once again failed to make the grade. Oh Academy, why do you hate the brilliant Mr. Nolan?

The heart of The Social Network, Andrew Garfield, was also left out, as well as Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo for The Kids are All Right.

The Academy Awards will be handed out on 27 February, airing on ABC. James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be hosting the evening's festivities.
