Vanya, Sonya, Masha Oh My!

Vanya, Sonya, Masha and Spike is such a surprising delight I am reticent to write a post about it so as not to spoil nor over-hype anyone.  It's best seen knowing as little as possible.  I was really curious about this play by Christopher Durang since it had transferred to Broadway from a sold out Off-Broadway run in a very short time.  I'm glad that we chose to see it as part of our Apr. 20th weekend trip.  It's my favorite show that I saw that weekend and have been recommending it to friends.  The other two were The Last Five Years and Pippin.
Siblings Vanya (David Hyde Pierce) and Sonya (Kristine Nielsen) live quietly in the house they grew up in but suddenly one weekend, their now famous sister who is an actress, Masha (Sigourney Weaver) comes home with her boy toy, Spike (Billy Magnussen).  This ignites some deliciously hilarious family dynamics that will have you laughing from start to finish.
That's it!  I don't want to say anymore!  Just go and see it because it's one of the funniest, cleverest and definitely deliciously enjoyable plays that I've seen in a long time.
Here are some photos I took that night:
